Endometrial thickness

Hi all,I am 57  I had a appoint with gp last march because I was having some issues. I got referred to gynae. I got seen in  Nov, given a internal. Told I would need a scan. A couple of weeks later. The nurse said my womb lining looked thick but unfortunately, they couldn't give all over measurements because I'd had a ablation 7 years ago and I'd got adhesions. A couple of weeks later I was sent for a hysteroscopy during this procedure I was told they needed to take a biopsy. This became difficult they showed me the screen, they couldn't get to where they needed there was fibrous strands??? growing. To my astonishment they told me I needed to go to preop   need two biopsys which they are doing on 4 Jan. They even mentioned I may need a hysterectomy. Cancer was never really mentioned. I don't know how concerned I should be. My lining was 11mm on the bit they could see and then it got joined together.

  • Hi Wellstone,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry you haven't received a reply up to now - I can understand this must be concerning. It's good to hear you don't have too much longer to wait until your next appointment. Do use this as an opportunity to talk through any outstanding questions if you have any, and then hopefully following this appointment it won't be too long until you get your results and all the information you need.

Meanwhile if others here have similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
