Looking for someone who’s been in a similar position?

Hi,

im 24 years old, I haven't had a period for approx 8 months now. I've had a bad lower back for a few months too but lately it's started turning into almost sciatic pain?
I've had blood tests and an abdominal scan.

im now starting to worry it could be something to do with my cervix? But I've seen with cervical cancer it tends to be you bleed more and it's heavy?

I have an appointment with my gp on the 10th where I think she will do a pelvic examination.
Im just worrying myself sick and wanted anyone who's been in a similar boat to me?

thanks so much x

  • A gp has rang me this morning, reassured me, said I can't have a smear but she's got me in tomorrow morning to look at my cervix but said currently she can not do a smear

  • I’m glad you’ve had some reassurance from the doctor and are getting seen. As I said before, you wouldn’t be able to get a smear test, but in any event that’s not what you need at this point. I really hope you can get your mind put at rest after your appointment. x

  • Hi Minska, I've seen a gp this morning who looked at my cervix and said there's nothing she is concerned about.
thanks for the kind reassuring words from yourself too.

  • Hi Kell

That’s great news and I hope you’re feeling better about things now you’ve had an examination. I’m really pleased there’s nothing sinister going on, and hope that you can relax now.x

  • Hi Minska, me again. I'm still worried. This back pain has not gotten any better it's also in my left hip. It was so bad I went to a&e on Saturday, they did a lumbar mri all disks, nerves etc all fine. I said where abouts the pain was they said that's more pelvis! I had brown discharge 21st 22nd 23rd December wirh occasional light pink when I wiped. Now today, light pink blood again, with horrible lower stomach pains, I am so worried, I know she's looked up at my cervix but is this enough? I just feel as though something is not right.
I'm also taking 30/500 cocodamols and I can still feel pain

  • Hi Kell

You need to have your doctor investigate your continuing pain and symptoms. The doctor should decide from this investigation if you need to be referred to a specialist for further tests. If I were you this is what I’d be looking for, so can you call to see you are still having pain and symptoms and try to get another appointment? x
