Worried mum

Hi there,

Just looking for some reassurance, I randomly found a lump in my armpit on Friday it was painful and under the skin and smooth on outside but had a pinky/red area on the outside.

I rang my doctor surgery who made an appointment and the receptionist asked if I had checked my breast which I hadn't even connected to be honest. Anyway before my appointment I didn't but didn't feel anything.

the doctor did a breast examination at the consultantation and it was painful in a certain area he went over it a couple of times and told me to put my clothes on and when I sat down he told me he had found a lump in my breast as well.

he said it is reassuring that it's painful (I was in tears at this point) but it is a lump in my breast nevertheless so I would need to be seen in the breast cancer clinic.

I have two young children and feel like this is going to be hanging over be during Christmas also have anxiety as well.

has anyone had something similar?

  • Hi there,

just wanted to say hello as I am in the same position as you. I started to get pain in my breast and then found a lump. I'm booked in at hospital on the 12th January and feel so sick. I have two children under 12 and I'm struggling to try and be even interested in Christmas. I feel so sick and can't sleep. I am just desperate to know what this is.

    sending you huge hugs.

  • Hey, I don't know what you're going through as I am currently undergoing tests for lymph nodes which are swollen, I'm also a mum who is worrying that when I have my nasal & theoat cancer on the 30th they'll tell me something bad. I've worried for weeks now, and I've had a stern talking to myself lately, I've really tried to push all anxiety away for this week, to enjoy Christmas with my family and daughter, if it what I think it is, I'll fight it and atleast I'll know what's going on.

You're strong, and you are under going all the tests you need, enjoy Christmas and whatever life throws at you... You can do it xx
