Gynaecologist oncology clinic appt

Hello, So my name is simone and I have received a gynae oncology clinic appt in January and now I'm terrified.. so I have had uterine ablation in 2020 due to heavy periods and fibroids which I've had removed, and recently have been getting really bad lower left pelvic pain when I have periods which was normal for me with all my problems but it has been so much worse. I had a transvaginal scan and some bloods which the CA125 came back as 101 ‍♀️
but I also had a gynaecologist appt on the 14th dec and he said he will do another hysteroscopy and biopsy if he can due to my ablation and rpt bloods on the 6th January to re check the CA125. He mentioned it's probably due to my fibroids... and the scan showed thickening of my uterus which could be down to my age and the fact I haven't gone through the menopause yet.. and now I have received this letter my mind is all over the place... has anyone had similar please??

  • I ended up in the gynaecology oncology clinic as enlarged ovarian cysts were found during a colonoscopy, l had all the scans and tests to exclude cancer, my surgeon then advised surgery. I was fortunate to have this oncology surgeon as l had extensive adhesions that required a 4 1/2 hrs procedure to free them. She said most surgeons would have bailed out out on my adhesions. I would be pleased that you are being seen by oncology as they are really though. Even in this time of Covid restrictions l had my op in 12 weeks. I am still recovering but glad it's over. And my biopsies were benign.

on my track record don't be alarmed by your oncology referral they treat patients with out cancer.

Try to relax over Christmas easier said than done l know

  • Thankyou susie x

I think it was just a shock. But I agree what you say try not to worry I'm a big believer in what will be will be.. I can't change anything but I just have to be patient xx

  • The shock of a oncology appt is real lm a retired nurse and knew that cysts at my age were not good. Waiting for the biopsies was awful there's always that doubt, my adhesions were from a caesarean and a hysterectomy l now have 3 scars plus 4 for the  failed laparoscopic attempt. The catheter has left problems and l now have a kidney infection.
Take care lm hoping all goes well for you in January
