CBD oil / DMSO

Hi,

I was diagnosed with stage 1B2 cervical cancer 16 months ago which thankfully was curable with surgery and possible radiotherapy. I underwent a radical hysterectomy, preserving the ovaries due to my age (38). The op went well, lymph nodes were removed and checked and came back clear so it was decided that no further treatment was needed and I would visit my consultant every 3 months for check ups. My check ups have consisted of a few routine questions and an internal examination all of which have been fine with no reason for any concern.

At my last appointment I reported some lower back pain that I was experiencing and was assured that this was muscoskeletal and nothing to worry about so I booked myself in for a sports massage and put it to the back of my mind until a couple of days later when I woke up and my right leg was extremely pink and swollen, at first I thought it was lymphodema or something related. After a trip to a & e, a CT and ultrasoundscan on my legs it was found that I had a blood clot in the iliac vein, I was put on blood thinners and sent on my way.

when the CT of my legs had been looked at, they had caught a section of my pelvis on the image unintentionally and saw something of concern so as a result sent it off to the MDT to look at further. I received a call from my specialist nurse who asked if I could go to clinic that day. When I got there the consultant explained that the images shown a growth on the pelvis which was pressing on my vein causing the blood to clot, they had also spotted a growth in the sacrum (tailbone) which has eaten away part of the bone , causing the pain in the lower back. After a further PET scan it was confirmed that the cancer is not curable but I will be starting chemotherapy to try and keep it at bay for as long as possible.
The consultant told me that the average is 12-18 months so as you can imagine in a desperate bid to lengthen this I have been looking into CBD oils and DMSO. Does anybody have any experience with these, if so how have you found them, was it alongside chemo and what was your consultants view on this?

Thank you in advance x

  • Doesn't answer your specific question, but my wife who is currently undergoing chemo for breast cancer, and is sat next to someone who had a similar diagnosis as yourself. In fact, her story reads like yours. She is over 4 years out from that terminal diagnosis and the treatment is still working for her. She also has it in her pelvis and spine. She has a good quality of life too. No idea if she's using anything other than what she's been given from the hospital.

  • Hi Laura

Your story sounds similar to mine

I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2019 and has a radical hysterectomy in the June, staged at 1B1 no lymph node involvement, I also kept my ovaries.
Fast forward 6 months and my December scan showed a complex cyst on my left ovary that looked suspicious. I had both ovaries removed and cancer was found in both and started chemotherapy in February this year.

I've been taking cbd, fembendazol, Vitamin E and turmeric since May and after my third chemotherapy. I don't know if its working but I'm currently still here and was willing to try anything.

Have you heard of Jos Trust? There's a great forum on there for people with advanced cervical cancer too. It really helped me through chemo.
