I'd like to recommend joining the Campaigns Ambassadors programme which I've found to be very rewarding, interesting and not too onerous. 

I also heard on Wednesday that CRUK are still recruiting volunteers to supplement the nurses on the CRUK Health Awareness Roadshows. This part time role runs from approximately April to October and like the Ambassador role is open to anyone with an interest. I usually cover 2 or 3 days per month - arrangements are very flexible and the training and support is great.
