National SACT Alert Card Project

We are pleased to be involved alongside Macmillan Cancer Support, in a UK-wide project to develop a national standard for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) alert cards.

SACT is the term used for cancer drug treatments and includes chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and hormonal therapy. There are many different SACT alert cards currently used across the UK, and you may know them as chemotherapy alert cards, immunotherapy alert cards or a cancer drug treatment alert card. These cards are usually given to people receiving cancer drug treatment and contain important information about their treatment and what to do if they become unwell.

The project aims to gather feedback from people with lived experience of receiving and using SACT alert cards (systemic anti cancer therapy card) to help inform the development of a future national alert card standard.

This is an exciting opportunity to hear directly from patients and carers about what matters most to them, how they use alert cards in practice, and what information or features they feel are needed in the future. Their experiences will play an important role in shaping the direction of this work.

This opportunity is open to people aged 18 and over who live in the UK and have received a SACT alert card themselves or for someone they have cared for. Participants can contribute either through a short online survey or by expressing an interest in joining an online focus group.
