Lung cancer spread to brain

Hi everyone

my father in law has been in hospital with confusion today we found out that it's spread to his brain

does anyone know what the life expectancy is for this condition we r trying to sort out if we will need a carer or will we be able to look after him on our own

we r all obviously devastated by this sad news but we want him to be comfortable and happy on his last days/months

xx

  • Hi Lisaab,

I'm so sorry to hear of the situation with your father in law.

It may be difficult to find answers here about what to expect - it would be best to talk things through with his specialist / medical team as they will be best placed to advise specific to him. It's important that you have all the information you need and can be as prepared as possible, so I hope you'll have the opportunity to speak to them soon.

If you need practical or emotional support at any point, it may be helpful to talk things through with Macmillan.

Aside from that, I hope that this forum can offer some small support to you - we're always here if you need it, even if it is just to write things down and reach out to others.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
