My mum is 77 year's old she was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in March of this year after going to hospital with her diabetes.
They did some tests and an MRI scan and told her she had pancreatic cancer and it had spread to her liver she was given 12 months by the doctor.
We had a few consultations about what treatment could be offered including tablets ( which can cause heart attacks) and chemo she went for the chemo after a couple of sessions it was making her feel worse.
So she stopped they then fitted a stent in the bile duct which helped but as the month's passed by she slowly got weaker and weaker in September she ended up in hospital for 3 weeks where they decided to fit another stent.
They said she needed some physio to help get her moving but only managed to give her one session in the whole 3 weeks she was in there!
On the third week myself and my wife went to pick her up and take her home but by the following Tuesday she had a fall at home but managed to get to the phone to call me.
So I managed to get to her and help her back up she then told me she had managed to phone for an ambulance but was told it would be around 3 hours!
So we took her in to hospital she is now on end of life and I'm not really coping with it very well I went to see her on Monday and spent practically the whole visit crying.
