Lung and Bone Cancer

Hi,

I am new to this site and just wondering if anyone has been or is in the same situation as me.
My mum was diagnosed with Lung cancer which has spread to her bones at the end of April, this was after months of being told they couldn't figure out what was causing her pain and sent home 5 times!!!!!

She has had a hip replacement for relieve some pain 4 weeks ago,it took 2 weeks to recover from the operation as she suffered post op delirium. She was doing really well and on Tuesday had a really really bad attack of delirium and needed to be sedated, they think she has an infection and seemed better today after antibiotics have kicked in and is talking again, quietly but talking! Her oncologist told me this week she probably only has weeks left. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? I just don't know what to expect next :-(

  • Hi I'm so sorry but I understand what you're going through

On Wednesday we were told mum has bone lung and liver cancer we find out how long this week but she's so unwell so no idea what to expect I just wanted her to make it to Christmas but not even sure if she will

Just know as alone you might feel you're honestly not and these forums are really helpful

  • Hi,

my heart goes out to you! Iv been where you are.  Iv just cared for my beautiful mum for the past 2 years with lung and bone cancer . My mum was told she had weeks to months but faught very hard for 27 months . I lost her 3 weeks past she was just 63. What a tough time she had, she was amazing and I'm so so proud of her . I am so very lost , I was so busy for so long and now nothing it's hard to fill your day as I'm not married and don't have kids, not eating or sleeping well but hoping that will come back in time.   My heart is broken Iv lost my mum and best friend! What I will say is take all the help you are offered it's so stressful being the one caring for your mum. My mum passed in the hospice and they will do everything they can to make it as easy as they can for the patient and you.

    thinking if you xx
