My son has Bowel cancer and its spread like mad he's having a terrible time with pain etc he's been told he won't last until Christmas how do you cope with something like this x
Welcome to Cancer Chat Barb although I'm so sorry about your son's diagnosis. I can't begin to imagine what you're going through at the moment and how difficult this must be for you.

Hi Barb, sorry to hear this awful news, BUT, don't take the doctors word as gospel. My mum got bowel cancer 8 years ago, was told she didn't have long at all. She is still with us now, yes she's now in very very poor health, but she has had about 6 or 7 years where her health still allowed her to do things with family and friends and live a happy life. NEVER give up. People are incredible and our bodies can do amazing things. Make the most of every day you have with him, be grateful for the small things and peace will come with time. I hope they can help to manage his pain better, and that you can enjoy the time you have. Thinking of you and your family, I hope for better times for you. X
Thanks I know what you mean I don't have any faith in the doctors today my son complained for a long time about pain and problems with his bowels he was told he had IBS he knew it wasn't because the pain was different so when they finally got him to a constant and did scans and things it was everywhere his liver stomach spleen and now in his lungs his abdomen is full of tumors I pray a miracle will happen because it's heartbreaking to see what was a fit 46yr old man to what he is today.
