Hi.
my mum was diagnosed with lymphoma in her stomach, liver, bowel and lung in Oct 2019, she received 6 rounds of R-CHOP chemo and then radiotherapy. Her scan in November showed it had been effective on all areas apart from her stomach and a new area had formed in her right lung. the plan was for more chemo in January this year. She had her first round and then unfortunately she had chest pains and was admitted to hosp where aspirin and GTN spray relieved symptoms. She had her second round in feb and again she experienced the same chest pains but no admittance to hospital. She went to see a heart specialist with a view to possibly needing a stent but tests showed her heart is fine just microscopic damage but otherwise working fine. She then had a scan which showed the chemo had worked on the lung but no change in the stomach. Now they've advised she has no chemo, she can't have radiotherapy again and all they can offer is steroids if she gets any symptoms but he has told us it is now incurable and fatal. He wouldn't give a prognosis but had already said in the early days that the lymphoma is aggressive. Just feel lost and confused and want to know what happens now. They've arranged see mum in another 4 weeks. Until then though we're just left wondering what's going to happen. Mums 72 years old. They said she isn't suitable for any trials or stem cell therapy either. I just feel they've given up on her.
thank you for taking the time to read my post. Sorry it's a bit long.
