Stomach cancer

Hi

i am just writing in here to get some closure. My mum was in hospital this year for 6 months due to an eating disorder where she didn't want to eat anything. She has numerous operations, blood transfusions, blood tests, CT scans and still couldn't eat in November.

we were told on 26th November 2020 that my mum was riddled with stomach cancer and on 29th November she sadly passed away.

How is this possible that doctors, nurses that have given these scans, blood transfusions, and operations haven't caught this? Their was no treatment that could of been given to her but I can't grieve as I don't think that you can pass away that quickly!

  • Welcome to the forum Emlou although I'm so sorry about your mum.

I hope writing here as helped you sort out some the thoughts and feelings you're currently working through but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses they're available for a chat on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. If you can, do see if you can get in touch with her medical team to get some answers as well.

Many of our members know how tough this time can be, especially when things happen so quickly, so I'm sure some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

    Kind regards,
