Hello there

my nan has terminal cancer and in June of this year she was given 3-6 months to live. Prior to June she had had breast cancer, bowel cancer and stomach cancer. Her stomach was removed last year and she was put on a feeding tube. In June when she had her last scan it showed there was cancerous cells in the liver and a shadow on her lung and the cells were too aggressive for treatment hence given a time. Since June she has deteriorated and is currently on the highest dose of Fentanyl patches and Morphine. She no longer eats or hasn't drank for a week now all she is having is her feed. She has throat secretions which completely take it out of her, she is wretching a lot and this has increased in the last week, she is six stone and said she has had enough now. 
 

my question is, is how long will she have to suffer like this ? I have read up on palliative sedation but is this a thing ? 
 

What my mum and I are finding hard is one day we don't think she will make it through the night then the next she feels better. This week has been awful so I just thought I would reach out,
