a concerned friend

My best friend is nearing the end.. I feel so useless I don’t know wot to do to help her .. she’s only 50 and a single mum to her daughter.. She was diagnosed with peritoneal cancer  a year ago and it’s very aggressive.. at the moment she’s sleeping a lot her tummy is so swollen   Due to the build up of fluid yet her body’s so thin and boney  just seeing her makes me so upset

    I'm sorry to hear that your friend is approaching the end of her life. It's never easy to see a loved one go through this. 

    Is she well enough for you to visit? I'm sure that she would appreciate spending time with her friend and just talking about the kind of things that you would have pre-diagnosis, a mental break from the cancer. I'm sure that just knowing that you're there for her at this difficult time is a great comfort.

    Thank u.. when my friend is not in pain or 2 days after her chemo  we do manage to chat.. my friend is so brave she’s been asked if she wants to know how long left she has but has declined to know.. when I have been round to see her I see how thin and frail she’s looking   Yet her tummy is huge due to the fluid .. we have spoken about death and she says she’s not scared of dying but scared for her 16 yr old daughter .. I can’t deal with death after findin my dad who died suddenly   I find it so hard and just can’t deal with it.. my dad died 7 yrs ago but I still grieve and find hard to except
