Hi this is my first post.
My mum was diagnosed withpancreatic cancer non operable its spread to poss lungs and lympmodes.
Diagnosis was April 4th 2020. She was so ill that we thought she was going to die that very day, because of covid 19 i sheltered with her and become her carer. She slept alot land ost 3 stone in weight, hardly ate anything, touch and go for months, then we got steroids and morphine slow release tablets.
Since then mum has started to eat all sorts of food and got her fancies, she drinks tea again with biscuits and even fancied chocolate, she dont like chocolate? Shes awake 12/13 hours a day, when she use to sleep for 20 hours a day, she wants to put her make on and has showers often. Shes still wobbly on her feet but thats because shes been in bed for months!
Its like mums getting better? The doctor will not give mum a life expectancy so now mum thinks she has years left?
So my question is this..... Is it the medication thats making mum eat and feel better or is it the calm before the storm? Im worried that i am getting complacent and believing mum thats shes getting better. Will she go down hill? Is it still just months left or now we are in month 4 have we got weeks left?
Please someome help me
