DAD won his case

hello all,

i lost my dad in 2018, to cut a long story short, the hospital found the cancer in my dad in 2015 it was the size of a 5p but because of a clerical error they did not send dads results to his GP and they also did not recall dad for further tests, they found the cancer when he had blood in his pee during a routine stent procedure, so his GP didnt know they had tested his bladder for cancer !! so fast forward to 2017 he has cancer all over his bladder, they want to operate but need to do a catscan first, they did that it had spread to a rib, elbow, lungs and lymph nodes and wham just like that hes terminal with 9-12 months left .. the consultant from the hospital came over to the hospital who was treating him for cancer to tell dad they have made a huge mistake, dad just sat there and said your error has killed me .. the consultant agreed and said sorry ... just like that just sorry !!!

anyways when dad had had time to diguest the info he consulted a solicitors and he started the ball rolling, but sadly he died so the task was passed onto me and my sisters,

they sent all dads paperwork and tests over to the specialist cancer doctor  who wrote a damming report, saying if my dad had been treated when the cancer was found the cancer was fully treatable and it was so small in mass he didnt think in his opinion it would have come back !! i was sick when i read the report, the NHS admitted full liability and didnt even fight the claim but then again how could they..

yesterday we settled the claim with them and we have a nice tidy sum going to  hospice which dad requested happen in his WILL .. no money will bring my dad back or ease the pain or suffering he endured but when i hand the cheque over to them in a couple of weeks i know my dad will be smiling down at us with a pint of stella in his hand while saying well done girls ..

anyways just wanted to share the end of the journey of tasks dad asked me to do and now finally i might be able to grief for the great man we called Dad
