I am caring for my mam who is 93 years and she was diagnosed with myleofibrosis and alzheimers 4 years

ago and 1 year ago respectively.She has been going to get blood transfusions at our local hospital every three weeks since being diagnosed with myleofibrosis.It has taken its toll on her getting to the hospital  recently by wheelchair taxi, trying to find veins,wait for test results,and then having blood transfusions which would usually take 6 hours.

In the beginning the blood transfusions made a difference but for the past 6 months it has not been noticeable. 

She was hospitalised last week because she would not eat or drink and became dehydrated.She is very weak an frail. Her alzheimers condition is diagnosed as advanced.

She is home but she is now under the pallatiive care team. Her blood was 9.2 last week when she went in.

She is not due to have any further blood transfusions.

I am reluctant to think about what will happen next.
