  • Hello julie g

My wonderful mother in law passed away last night in her own home after being diagnosed with a brain tumour in january. As time went on we needed an increase in steroids and oramorph. She went quite child like in the later days and became a little fixated on things and ate alot chocolate and sweets. then she struggled to swallow so went on to soft food but eventually stopped eating. When the pain meds were working she was ok but when the wore off she became very distressed even though she never complained of pain.  The meds worked less and less over time until she needed a syringe driver, from then she never woke up but was peacefully sleeping until she passed away. She was 84. We were told 3 months ish and she lasted 9 weeks. I couldn't see her in the latter days as I'm being shielded as receiving treatment for breast cancer.   Very sad times, stay strong xxxx

A big virtual hug from me
