  • Hello Sarahs605

Sorry to hear that your Dad is dealing with some new health problems at the moment. Have you discussed these with his GP? There could be a number of causes for the swelling and back pain but do get in touch with his GP who will be best placed to help deal with this.
    Best wishes,

  • Hi there,

Last year my mum was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, she had exactly the same thing, fluid build up in legs and stomach, it had spread to her ovaries and lungs. Back pain is common during pancreatic cancer

She was prescribed tablets to help get rid of the fluid build up so maybe that's something you can ask if you ring the gp up - i think they helped mum a little but ultimately she needed an operation because the tumours were causing the fluid build up in her stomach. Shes managed a year but is now in the end stages, we were told on Thursday she has 2 weeks to live, her tumour in the pancreas shrunk but it had metastasized to her lungs even more.

Good luck with everything, chemo helped my mum a lot!

  • Hi. Sorry to hear about your Dad. Back pain is a problem with Pancreatic Cancer. My husband's legs & feet swelled but went down if he elevated them but then they found he had had a blood clot when they did an ultrasound causing the swelling so went on to blood thinning injections.
