Hi. So, as the title says, my mum was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer on 15th January. It's already spread to her liver, and her doctor says it's inoperable and incurable. He's estimated she has between a few months to a year left, and has started her on chemo to try and alleviate the symptoms and give her more time.
but I just don't know what to do. It's just me and my mum - we don't have any other family. I'm 28 so I should be okay in general, but I don't know what to say to her or how to cope and I'm just not talking about it because every time I do I start crying. My dad died from leukaemia when I was 15, so I've done it before, but I'm terrified of mum dying because I'll be completely alone. I have friends, I know I do, but it's different.
