My mam - terminal cancer

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and posting here as I'm terrified and need support.
I am originally from Ireland but have been living in Guernsey for the past 10years. I have a husband and a child. My mam was diagnosed with lung cancer which had also mestazied to her pelvic in May. She had radiotherapy and chemotherapy but it was unsuccessful and the cancer has spread to her liver and a tumour has been found in her neck.

My dad hasn't to this point made me aware of the timescale we are looking at? Im not sure if he has asked?

I am at my wits end with worry and anxiety, it's not as easy for me just to hop on a flight - we live on an island so it's difficult and costly plus I work full home and we have no other family support over here to help with childcare.

I am basically just looking for a supportive ear/advice.

Thank you.

  • I’m so sorry to hear your news, my sister lived away when our father was ill. She would try and visit often mostly weekends. She was in communication with our parents everyday and did whatever she could for them. Sending you positive thoughts and try to think in the moment and not too far a head. Small steps be kind to yourself your parents will say the same I’m sure. Take Care Tilly
