Continue with treatment or not

Over two years ago I was diagnosed with lung cancer.  Now after several courses of chemo and a lengthy course of radio therapy my oncologist has told me  I’ll have to make a decision to either live what time I have and enjoy a good quality of life without hospital visits, etc or  perhaps extend my life expectancy by a few months by having a course of either Paclitaxel or Docetaxel (Taxotere).  I was told that the side effects of both of these are quite nasty.   Can anyone tell me if they have had either of these.  Thanks

  • Hi jofin

i had docetaxel, from what I've found out they are both very near the same family of cemo, i was supposed to have 10 sessions but they cut it to 6 as there was bad side effects i think you can say it's a nasty one if you can manage it there's a good chance of a cure, there's others on forum that's tried it as well, hopefully they'll get in touch. I had mine in 2016 I'll probably have some more next year, I'm non curable so I have some every so often to keep the cancer down good luck with what ever you do.. Billy
