My nan barely has an appetite

Hey, so my nan has terminal lung cancer, as well as multiple brain tumours, and it’s believed that after stopping treatment they’ve travelled all the way through her. For the last couple of weeks she’s barely been eating and the last 2 days she’s barely drinking either.

she gets up and dressed most days but is so tired and has no energy at all most of the time, is this normal? I know we can’t force her into eating or drinking if she doesn’t want too but I don’t know what to do to help her at this point. Help!

  • Hi love, I'm so sorry to hear about your Nan, but this is how things happen, my Mum hardly ate anything and drank little, you can really just be there for her, things like ice cubes flavoured with juice will help her have a little fluid, crush them so she can just sip off a spoon.  She's doing so well to get up and dressed she's obviously very strong in soul if not body.  If you're concerned call the McMillan nurses and ask for their advice.  Carolx
