Kidney Cancer

My Dad age 85 has been diagnosed with Terminal Kidney cancer with a possibility that it has spready to his Lymph nodes.

I feel as though he has been abandoned due to his age.  Dad has not said very much about his diagnosis.  I am not sure what to expect or what is likely to happen next.

  • Hi there Anne. .

So sorry your dad's got this crule cancer ... but if you think logically, if it is terminal .. then if he has chemo, it will be really tough going ... it's really hard for young fit people .. it drains them and there's so often sickness and no energy ... would you really want your dad having to go through all that ... or to make every day count .. you'll still have time to make some good memories with him ..

My mum died suddenly from a heart attack... and no time to even say those things like I was so proud to have had her for my mum... she was 69 ... what I'd have given for even one day .. one hour ...

Find out if theres something he still wants to do... somewhere he wants to go ... talk to him about his childhood ... l bet he has some wonderful stories to tell ... hold his hand on this last journey ... make every day count ... that's what I'd do if I'd had the chance ... sending you a vertual hug...
