Mother got Breast Cancer

Hi

my name is Nicoleta. I am living in London.  I am from Romania Burchest. My mother got Breast cancer 2 years ago. She is 73. I am alone. Just me and my mother. I dont have any other family members. From last 2 years I been going to look after her. Taking to hospital etc. Now my mum can’t walk. Can’t cook. I am really worried. I don’t know what to do.

Any Advice please

  • Hi there ...

I'm so so sorry your going through this heartbraking time right now ..

If you go on McMillan web page and give them a call .. number is on there .. they are there Mon to Fri .  Write down the questions you want answering .. they have a legal person there to who maybe able to help you get help with aid .. they even can help fill out the forms ..

You could also call Marie Currie as they may be able to help too .. their numbers on their home page ..has your mum got an oncology team ... if so ring them too and tell them your mum can no longer walk .. even your G.p ... see what they can do to ... let us know how it goes ...

  • Hi

You are very caring lookingafter your mum , i know it is hard when on your own

If your mum walking and general getting about got worse , her gp or hospita team can assess her and see how to help, she may need a zimmer frame to help her mobility or other walking aids , or physiotherapy , the doctors will be able tell you

If you are struggling to cope on own, get the help of Macmillan nurse , online they have phone number,  they can arrange support for your mum and they have a benefit advisor who can advise if  your mum can get i think PIP money benefit to do with people with poor mobility

Try and contact them,  they are very nice people

You could also get a break as we are all humans

Maggie centres , are also places where you can drop in and get gelp, they are a charity and have buildings where one can relax and get emotional support , counselling etc, all you have to do is ask, they have centres all over uk, or phone them

Even as a caregiver you need help , so go on girl

i hope your mum gets better too
