NSCLC with >10 brain mets, BSC only. Update - still going

Hiya. Another update from me. My father in law was diagnosed with terminal secondary brain cancer (from lung) in June last year. Given two-three months to live. Best supportive care only. Steroids ineffective. I'm posting this hear in case it might be of use to others in a similar position to know what the progression could be like.

We're now January and he's getting up about 12pm-1pm at the moment, very tired. He's fixated on things such as a missing email, and can get quite angry; it's been slowly getting worse since the beginning of December. Other symptoms are confusion, muddled words and he's just started stuttering. We don't know how much longer it's going to be, but it's not easy. He's not getting a good quality of life right now, and he knows it in rare moments of clarity. It's very tiring, and we have been in this horrid limbo since June. We're well outside of what was expected and it's wearing as hell not being able to make any plans for literally anything.

Love to all of you.

  • I'm sure your post will be of great help to other members in similar situations Jenny so thank you for updating us on your father-in-law's journey.

I can't begin to imagine how difficult this situation must be for you all but I want you to know that we're thinking of you and sending all our strength and support your way.

    Kind regards,
