Mum diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer

Hi I’m 17 and a few days ago my mum was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer, they say no treatment will help and she’ll be moving to a hospice soon.

She only started getting headaches a couple of months ago so it all happened so fast I’m struggling to aceept thag she’ll be gone as the doctors said she has weeks.

Were extremely close and I don’t feel like I’ll be able to cope when she’s gone as it’s already unbearable and I can’t help thinking about all the things she won’t get to see me do. Thank you x

  • Dear Anna .. This is going to be your deepest sorrow and you have had literally no time to process any of Mums illness so the trauma involved is as harshly an affect as losing your Mum .. I know I could have lived to be 100 and still not have taken my Mum's passing with ease. Please stay close to your family. Have you an aunt, your Mum's sister perhaps who you can reach out to. There is nothing anyone can do to protect you from the pain of losing your dearest friend.. But there are some great websites to go to, to read other's stories, of your age. There is a certain comfort in knowing that you are not on your own, and other's too are suffering the same devastation .. Bless you, you are so young, and you will come to see, through signs and unexplainable events, that your Mum won't ever really leave you. I'm so sorry for you all x
