So my mum was diagnosed last August, started in the womb but then spread. It spread to the cavities of her abdomen. After 6 months of chemo, they wanted to go again, but tumour/tumours have grown even bigger quite quickly. They have now said that chemo wouldn’t do anything now. We will now have the hospice team come out and look after her, untill that time comes. I just can’t get my head around that we now have to watch he go through this. I feel so helpless x

    I'm really sorry that chemo is no longer an option for your mum. I can't begin to imagine how tough this must be for you both right now but I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone as many members here on the forum have sadly been on this journey and hopefully some of them will pop by soon to offer their support and advice.

    As you've said, it is a lot to take on board so if you can try to take things a day at a time so you can enjoy the time you have left with your mum and allow yourself time to process what you have been told.

    Post on the forum as much as you need or want to you Diane as the Cancer Chat community will always be here to listen and do what they can to help.

    Hi Diane ...

    So so sorry your going through such a heartbraking time now ... there's no easy way through this, and all I can say is my time when my mum passed .. she had a massive heart attack one Monday afternoon .. there was no time to even tell her how much I loved her, or how proud I was to have had her as my mum .. what I'd have given for just one day, or even one hour ...

    You have that time that was taken away from me ... use everyday as a memory day .. hold her hand , tell her all what's in your heart .. share, tears , hugs, memories of years gone by ... leave nothing unsaid .. get her to tell you parts of her life, you never knew ... hold her hand with pride on her journey she fields herself on ... grab every day with both hands ... sending you a vertual hug from one daughter to another ..  chrissie

    So sorry about your mum;  You don't say how old she is but you look quite young (I am assuming it is your photo) so I am guessing your mum is not so old either.  My mum died of cancer at 70 and that seemed too young to me   No matter how you try to get your head around what is happening it is so hard to do so.  How is your mum taking what has happened; are you able to talk with her about it.  Now is the time to say things that you might have not got round to saying before.  Do come and talk to us whenever you feel it would  help you.  Annie
