Hi again. My dad is currently using manuka honey. I have also read about cannabis oil. Has anyone tried this and if so, would they recommend and where can you purchase it from? Many thanks

Hi missketch, I'm sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis.
In terms of your question about Hemp Oil, there’s little in the way of evidence to suggest that either cannabis or hemp oil benefits most cancer patients. An early-stage trial we supported testing a drug called Sativex (made from cannabis extract) combined with temozolomide showed that it helped patients with brain tumours that had come back live longer. We’ll need to wait for further, larger trials to be certain of its benefits, though.
If you'd like to find out more about this particular trial you can read more here. There's also lots of really good information in our blog Cannabinoids for treating cancer?, which is well worth a read.
Our cancer information nurses are just on the other end of the phone if you have any questions, too: 0808 800 4040 (Mon - Fri, 9am to 5pm).
Wishing you all the best,

I've just seen this newspaper article.

Thanks for sharing this article. The problem is that this may have nothing to do with her taking cannabis oil. A small percentage of patients inexplicably go into remission without any sort of therapy.
This medscape article describes this phenomenon. www.medscape.com/.../827945
Proving the efficacy of cancer oil in a sample size of one case is impossible. This woman's cancer may have reacted to the cannabis oil (though whether the active ingredients can survive the digestive process is debated) or she may have experienced spontaneous remission. I guess we'll never know for sure.
Best wishes
Dave
Hi,
The situation is confused and confusing - not at all helped by the MHRA's seemingly contradictory press releases.
www.gov.uk/.../mhra-statement-on-products-containing-cannabidiol-cbd
Some elements of the trade in CBD have obviously interpreted this as an MHRA ban on sales - see volteface.me/.../
Other traders take a different view and interpret the same press releases as making sales legal - sensiseeds.com/.../
As I say - confused and confusing!
