Please can anyone shed any light or experiences. My poor mum had a full hystorectomy Nov 16, the cancer was secondry. After investigation they located the primary. Stomach Cancer. Jan 2017, Shes was offered Palliative chemo. The first chemo put her in hospital for 10 days back in march with internal bleeding. They put her on a syringe driver for sickness which did the trick. Got her back up and running. They knocked her 2nd chemo down by 25% ... she did ok this time. Although couldnt complete the course as she couldnt cope with the oral chemo. The 3rd chemo they knocked another but down. This was April. Shes never bounced back from it. She was complaining of a bad back, fatigue, sickness. Probs eating. She was in hosp approx a month ago for 2 weeks. Turns out the back pain is oestoperosis. She has 3 fractures in her back. No wonder she was in pain. Hospital got her pain under control and another driver for sickness. She came home. Over the next 2 weeks she deteroriated again. Shes now back in hosp. She was vomiting her meds up. Shes been in for a week. The syringe driver for sickness isnt working. She wont eat. Mum didnt want a pronosis. Although we knew it was terminal. Today they have had the DNR conversation. They talking about
hospices. I am so worried. I have to get the info second hand from dad. She has told doctors not to speak to me. I think shes doing it to try and protect me in her own way but Im demented. I know I will loose my mum, but havnt a clue when. Im no doctor, but all the signs are not good. She sleeps 90% time. This is awful. I want it to stop and go away. Why wont she eat. Im full of cold and have a cough so havnt seen her for 6 days. I feel guilty for this but is for her as she cant catch this. Im so upset for her. She must be terrified. She wont talk to anyone about it. Shes old school. Shes only 64. Does the DNR mean they think its soon ? I dont understand why the cancer makes you not want eat. Any input really appreciated
