Today is the day

I am currently travelling by train to my dad who was diagnosed in February with lung, lymph node, spine and hip. I had the call this morning to say two nurses were with him at home and they had given him the injection....what does this mean? I was there last week and collected ghe controlled drugs that would be for the syringes left by the nurse, but I don't understand what they are for and my step mum is an idiot who asks no questions and just over dramatises everything. My brother and I were due down today and tomorrow but looks as though dad cant hold in ay longer. He was doing ok until he fell thursday morning....then his legs stopped working, swallowing became hard and things started to end. I am an hr and a half away, but hope I make it to say goodbye. My poor brother hadn't seen him for 2 or so weeks because of my step mum and so now his last memories will be my dad almost unconcious. They will never talk again.

my thoughts go out to you at this extremely sad time, I was there 10 months ago when I recieved the call and no amount of words can describe the gut wrenching feeling.

I hope you manage to see and hold, hug your dad in time.

    take care

    Dear LindseyS,

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad and hope that you managed to get to him in time. It sounds as if things are pretty fraught between your step-mum and your brother, but I hope that they can put this behind them for the time being.

Thinking of you all and praying that your Dad has a peaceful release.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
