Advanced prostate cancer

My husband has prostate cancer and it has spread to his bones.  He has undergone a 30 week course of chemotherapy which ended in March 2017.  Following this he went on a cruise to recuperate but became ill while away and since his return has developed a chronic problem with his stomach resulting in his needing to eat frequently but following food, whatever it is, he feels chronically nauseous and burps constantly.  He was given some medication by his GP to help with the nausea but it only seems to have made things worse.  The irony is that he had no nausea while he underwent the chemo but it is now seriously blighting his quality of life.  Can anyone help?  Thank you if you can offer advice.

  • Hello Maz1951 and welcome to our forum.

I'm sorry to hear about your husband and that he is feeling so poorly after his 30-week course of chemotherapy, for what you write it does sound like he is having a tough time, poor man!

We have some info here on eating and drinking problems I'd like to share with you Maz1951 and I hope this will be of some help: www.cancerresearchuk.org/.../diet-problems

Also, if you feel like giving our cancer nurses a call to ask for suggestions please know they are available to speak to you and they can be reached by calling this number 0808 800 4040 which is free of charge from a UK landline, Monday through Friday, between 9 am to 5 pm.

Best wishes to both you and your husband,
