  • Hi Desmond

If I was you I would first of all enjoy life as much as possible. Easy said for me. No not really .. But do what makes you happy as a person. You would be surprised how many people will support you. I have found this out from the forum.Go see what they say for the next cycle and talk to them regarding how you feel. We are a similar age and you have go do whatever you wish to do. Have a good think make a list and just do it. Keep a positive mind and if you get fed up. Drop me a line as I am just coming through an experience with my wife. And on this forum you will always receive positive and friendly advise.

  • Hi David, I just recently lost my partner Dave to stage 4 lung cancer. He had 3 rounds of chemo & it didn't work. We then tried immune therapy. He passed away on the 28th April. Chemo wasn't kind to him & I can honestly say if we knew then what we know now we would have chose not to have the chemo. Quality over quantity wish we had gone with quality he was 47 and had only been diagnosed for 7 months. I wish you well David xx
  • Hi David,

Will you find out on Friday whether or not the chemo has had any effect?

Chemo can be a physically and emotionally draining experience, it would be very easy to give up too soon. On the othe hand, there will come a point for many of us when the chemo is doing more harm than good.

I hope that whatever decision you make, you get the support you need from family and friends.

    Best wishes
    Dave

  • Hi well went Friday markets are down going for cycle 4 week after next but they cannot give me the answers I want ie will this cure me will it come back how long have I got etc left I could have all 4 cycles and still be dead this year
  • They probably don't know the answers - which is frustrating. The oncologist told me that they wouldn't be able to tell until they had the "after" CT scan to compare with the "before" scan - combined with some scary statistics about what percentage of patients respond in which particular way.

The odds in my case were pretty long, but I went ahead anyway and it paid off.

    Good luck.

    Dave
