Hi

my mum was diagnosed with MDS(a blood cancer) 5 weeks ago and went into hospital for 11 days of intense chemo. Sge stayed in for 5 weeks.  Its turned to Acute Myloid Leukemia. Her body hasn't coped well even though she has mentally. 

Yesterday  was her first clinic appt where the doc told her the next stage would be chemo low dose every 4-6 weeks to keep it managed and give her some quality of life, but it would never be cured

she was totally shocked and he gave her 18-24 months.  She hasnt been listening to the conversations we had with the consultant while she was in and i'd trued to get her to taje it in.  This morning she said I didn't actually want to know. 

I know they can only put an average time on it, but what can we expect?

will the chemo stop at some point as this is buying her more time, 

she said how can i be normal and try to be normal when i have no hair.

we're all heartbroken
