Hi Marie
Sometimes it can be so many different ways, especially with Cancer, some people go slowly downhill, some ( like my mum ) go downhill rapidly, my mum was diagnosed on Tues and passed away friday early hours, she stopped eating, but had a poor diet anyway, didnt go for a number 2 since the sunday/ monday, her wee went very dark and her energy went so she was bedbound the last evening, her cancer of the lungs but spread to her brain so was not painful for her iname the end.
Hopefully you can have more time with your mum but make every day count, it is so precious x

hi marie
I lost my mum in November her cancer was on her bones she got pneumonia my Dr said it's a way the body tried to help them slip away my mum hadn't eaten for about 2 weeks and didn't sink a think for days she hadn't been for a number 2 in 2 weeks and her wee was very very dark she also stopped talking and just wasn't with it at all till the day before she spoke a little and had a little bit to drink but then developed the death rattle which isn't nice at all and with my mum the last 2 days she had what the nurses call the death smell it must be very hard for you to be going throu this if you ever need a chat I'm always here x
