Welcome to the forum Kj2202 although I'm really sorry to hear about your mum and for the reason you find yourself here.
Many of our members here know how tough it can be finding out and coming to terms with news like this and hopefully some of them will reply soon to offer their support and advice on how to deal with this. I'm not sure how much your mum told you about her situation but if she didn't tell you too much maybe you could try having another conversation with her, in a casual way as this seems to be the best way she has found to discuss this, and try to find out a bit more about how she is feeling and what she is going through.
