Friend in final days

Some very dear friends of ours, Dave and Annie. Dave has bowel cancer and today we came over to see him as Annie isn't coping well. The DN came and decided to put him on a syringe driver and said he only has a few days left. I'm feeling so sad as me and my fiancée (were in our twenties) went on our first camping trip with them in 2014. He's now confined to a bed in the living room, this is the first time I've ever seen someone with cancer since my grandad but was very young then.  We've been here supporting Annie as she hasn't slept in days. It's so heartbreaking,we're getting married in 6 months and they're one of the reasons we're together. We owe a lot to them. Anyway thanks for reading, just a very hard time xx Martin

  • Oh what a tragedy Martin = thank goodness Annie and Dave have you both as it is a very lonely and painful road - the cancer road. We are currently on that road. As I read yr post it seemed like you two -- your fiance and you were meant to be. Welcome here - it is full of hearty people who know the suffering of life. They will help you - as we understnad the shock you must have had when you saw Dave and Annie. I am sending you all a big hug down the wires to you all
