My dad passed last night

So my dad passed last night - just 3 days after my wonderful, magic, sad and amazing conversation with him - and our goodbyes. 

I didn't expect to be so upset by it, as I was expecting it. But I am. And I don't know where all these tears come from

At least he's in peace now but my heart is so so heavy.

Thank you all for your amazing support... it's been a lifeline for me.

    I am so sorry for your loss Emily and with it being so close to Christmas, it must be a very difficult time for you. Our sincere condolences to you and your family from the Cancer Chat team. I love your profile picture of your dad - a great way to remember him. We have some information on Coping with Grief  which you might find helpful and which explains the complex range of emotions you will be feeling.

    I am glad you have found this site to be supportive. Do keep coming here anytime you need to talk. Many here have also lost a parent to cancer recently and understand exactly how you are feeling at the moment.

    Thank you so much Lucie. I will take a look at that info as I'm sure it'll help. 

    A total roller-coaster right now, and since I got the news, I've been alone - with my cats - which has allowed me to be me. I have my first 'meet up' with supportive friends tonight and I don't know if I'll hold it together! 

    I'm still away so haven't seen dad like my siblings have (in peace I mean)... kind of glad in a way as my memories are of him alive and they are lovely.

    Anyway, really appreciate it.

    I am so sorry to read about the passing of your dad. I know what you are going through as I lost my dad who lived in Canada in November last year. I dont think we can ever fully prepare ourselves for losing a loved one.

    Thank you Brian. A very sad time indeed but I have so much support out there.

    Really appreciate all the messages and support you've given to me on my various posts - they have helped a lot.
