I am sorry to read about your dad. I think once you have got over the iniatial shock, you will find you have an inner strength you didnt know you have. Also in the past I have replied to a lady in a similar situation and she ended up being quite close to her dad.

just remember that you're not alone. I'm here if you ever need to talk. My dad is currently dying from cancer and it's been rough but talking it out really helps.
I lost bpoth my parents and a sibling to Cancer. I was six and a half when my mother passed, and in baording school when my sister passed. So I never could really say good bye to them.
My father and I had a very turbulent relationship, and while I did look after him I did not ever make my peace with him. I was there by his bedside when he passed, and we did not make peace. I do regret that.
My only advice is .. please do try and resolve any issues you have. If not.. the regret is just not worth it.
