Heaven or here

I have been stage 4 for almost two years and was told Thursday to get my affairs in order.{Melanoma} I have never been afraid to die, but now that my time is limited I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this. People try to understand but they simply cannot.

  • Hi ronjon

Welcome to the forum though sorry to read your reason for being here.  My husband had terminal cancer for nearly three years and was pretty much told the same thing by his consultant in the early days of diagnosis. However he chose to do little about it other than to make a will (which we did on line quite easily).  He left everything else for me to decide after his passing as he did not feel emotionally able to cope with this.  Like you he told me he had no fear of dying which was some comfort at the saddest of times. I spoke with MacMillan Nurses and my husband's palliative care team which helped me get my head round it to some extent.  I hope you have  a good family support network and there are some guiding notes on the Cancer Research UK main website which explains some of the things that need to be done once someone passes away which may be of help to either you or your next of kin. best regards at what is the hardest of times. Jules54
