I'm sorry to hear about your husband. With my experience with cancer each case is different. We watched my nan die after an extremely long drawn out process and then passed on Christmas Day. My  dad was gone in the blink of an eye 3 days after diagnosis. My friends mum was fine one minute then was taken unwell and passed away after a month. My other friends dad had a heart attack. It never seems it's directly the cancer but something else that the cancer has caused. I think you will usually see some sort of deterioration when the time is coming and from there it could be a short or long journey to the end. What I'm trying to say is there is no definate answer to your question. I think you will be a tower of support whatever your path. That's all you can do. Take care

My husband also has GBM4.  He's had radiotherapy and several different chemos but nothing has worked and it's still not stabilised.  We dont know how long he's got, we chose not to find out but I know everyone's different.  I often think the same as you, I hope it will be quick and painless but then wonder how we'd cope if it was long and drawn out.  My husband is totally amazing the way he's coped (or come across as coping) he's brave and strong just like your husband.  All the things I have going round in my head about 'the end' and i guess untill the time comes we just dont know.
