Hi there Nicole, welcome to the forum, but sorry for why you are here. It sounds like your Dad is being treated for his heart condition, but not his lung cancer. You say he is terminal with lung cancer, but what conversation took place when he was admitted to hospital? Was this made aware to the people who admitted him? It might be helpful to have this conversation with his treatment people on the heart ward. Is he able to have this conversation himself, or are you or your Mom acting for his benefit? In the very least, he should be given medication for the effects of the cancer, i.e. pain meds, oxygen if needed, etc. Perhaps you can arrange to be with him when his treatment people are there, or otherwise, you need to contact them to set up a time when you and your Dad can have this conversation with them.

Hi Nicole, I'm glad your Dad got home where he likely is more comfortable. Sorry I misunderstood about his chest infection being a heart condition. I think when we have concerns about a loved one not receiving what they need from a health care facility, we need to make that known, in a polite way of course, but they do need to be made aware. In this day and age there are lots of avenues to make sure proper follow-up is done to ensure no one endures pain without proper medication to control it. I hope things go better for him from now on.
