Hi My Best Friend = what a fitting name for you and welcome here. I was sorry to hear about your good friend with this dreadful cancer. I wish they would find a cure!! I really do. On a practical level - make sure you don't pass any germs to her - so careful hand washing is the order of the day - especially after supermarkets etc. What we can all do here is support you so you feel strong for her and close. It needn't be bad - my pop died of lung cancer twenty years ago and him and I finally had reached the point where we had said everything and being close was all that was needed. It can be an uplifting time for you both = = but in the meantimes - let there be laughter, gaity and reminisences. How lucky it is to have such a good and long term friend
I will be thinking of you both tonight and wish for peace and hope for you both
all my deepest wishes

Hi there Best Friend, Steven has said it so eloquently that I don't think I can match it, but you sure are a good friend. I have had to be a support to so many loved ones dying with cancer that it scares me when I think about it, but just being there for your friend will mean so much to her. As well, you will need support for yourself and you have come to the right place for that support. People on this forum really know how it is for you and they will reach out to you as you take this journey with your friend. Stay in touch here on the forum and let us know how you are managing.
Take care.

Hi Steven, Thank you so much for your advice and kind words.... Xx
hi My Best Friend = so welcome here and we can all provide an anchor for you as you both move into new teritory in your friendship. I well understand how new and how scary it is = as we all do here. This is the road no one wants to travel down. But, it needn't be bad: it can be full of light and joy although mixed with tears as well!
If you are finding it hard I placed a link on the inspiration area for "self compassion" - which is practical advice on how to be kind to yourself in adversity. I find it invaluable.
We hold hands with you both in support in this new life
all my bestest wishes
Steven xx
