Thoughts on the Dying Process

I insert my late wife's thoughts.  She died of Kidney cancer of the lymph glands on 19th January this year.  She was very positive to the end and tried hard to learn and share her experience for the benefit of others.

Please feel free to view and read and share with anyone who would benefit.  Debbie's horror was dying young and mine is living without her but her message is one of hope. xxx

  • Morning Ian

Hope you had a great weekend. Ours varied between good socialising with friends/family and hubby catching up with sleeping loads inbetween. Apparently its perfectly normal with his diagnosis to suffer with extreme fatigue especially if he has been out and about.(He is still managing his once a week outing to the pub).  He had his consultant's appointment today and though has lost a few pounds and had low BP overall appears nothing much has changed which I feel is a good feedback session.  He has to go for blood tests in June and may be prescribed steriods for a short while to try and lift appetite but unless he notices changes he goes back in three months.  Hubby said he was happy with level of pain medication at present.

Have a good week.  Jules xx

  • Hi Jules,

Sorry its taking so long to reply. I have yet to fix my computer that I usually write from and rarely get time to use this 'tablet' which is new to me.  So I still read but at present only get to write less often.

On the good news front my replacement pass port has now arrived and so my trip to Brazil for the first half the World Cup is now a certain. I'm going with three mates and it should be good. I expect I may be missing from this thread for two and a half weeks though but will have lots to say on my return.  Only problem is being away from my new lady!  However with this new 'tablet' I can skype and so will at least be able to see and speak sometimes while Im a way!.

Yes I think your hubby slow increase in being tired is a sympton I remember well with Deb.  Yet so long as he remains comfortable with his medication there is little more you could hope for. So thats good. I have a quiet weekend to come, so looking forward to that.  I wish you a good one.

    Lots of hugs

    Ian xx

  • Hi Gill,

Hope your return to work has progressed well.  This must be a difficult time for you to be working round and i send you my thoughts and kind wishes.

Yes next time to the spa could be interesting if both my Jack and Jullies female cat (Ralf) are to come. But a they dont get on that well I cant see them being left in our room!##!

Virtual hugs and kisses to you

    Ian xx

  • Hi Ian

Back at work on Monday which has come round scarily quickly but I am looking forward to it.

Could be a first at the Spa.  Separate rooms for the cat and dog!

Thanks for the good wishes and hugs.  Always appreciated.

  • Hi Ian

Great news that you have new passport through and can now relax and look forward to your Brazillian adventure with your mates.  Not long now. Am sure you will get used to 'Skype-ing'  Julie and the family whilst you are away and lots of catching up to look forward to on your return.  Who gets to look after Jack whilst you are enjoying the footie?

Waiting for the sun to return (was beautiful when I walked to the supermarket to do the weekly shop at 7.30 (you can tell I am a morning person!!)) as it has now clouded over but fingers crossed I can spend some time in the garden this weekend as, like you, have a quiet one planned. We enjoyed an evening out with our usual friends yesterday and they leave for a 12 day holiday to their daughters in Spain tomorrow so have told them to bring some warm weather back with them.

Look after yourself. Hugs  Jules x

  • Hi Jules,

Jack goes to the farm to be on holiday with his two friends while I am in Brazil...It is all too close now with me going next Tuesday!!**!!  I may be off this thread till my return because of this but will be thinking of you and all of my friends here while I am away....

I just hope I can sort out wifi while I am away and be able to keep contact with Julie et al   ... but I'm sure I will.  I hope you continue to be on steady territory with hubby till my retrurn too.

    Kind thoughts and big hugs.

    Ian xx

  • Hi Ian

Delighted to hear you are off to Brazil.  Cannot believe how long it took to get a new passport though.

Hope you have a wonderful time and that you get the wifi sorted.

    Best wishes.
