Tired - Been fighting TNBC since 2021 and terminal for 2 years. Clinical trials next, but I could easily say no. What have others thought at this stage?

Ive been fighting this tnbc since 2021 and I'm tired now. It’s been terminal for 2 years and I've done 2 years of chemotherapy which hasn't helped at all. So now they want me to try clinical trials.
ive had lymphoedema in my arm and both legs due to cancer in all my lymph nodes and its become infected so i feel even rougher than ever,

I honestly have to try the clinical trials for my family but im super tired now and could just as easily say no. No more hair loss, no more nausea, no more feeling so so ill.
im 39 and need to know what others are thinking at this stage in there own cancer journey.
im usually a fighter and in the past have beat things like this.

  • I'm so sorry to hear how you're feeling JenlouT, but I just want to assure you that it's o.k. Having been through so much since you were diagnosed in 2021 it's completely understandable, and natural, to be feeling like this so do be kind to yourself at this time.

As you know, only you can make this decision but maybe you could talk things through with your family and be honest about how you are feeling. Although it will be very difficult to discuss I'm sure, I have no doubt your family will want to do all they can to support you whatever you decide.

Hopefully some of our members will share their thoughts and experiences with you soon but we also have a team of cancer nurses available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very understanding and easy to talk to, so do give them a call if you feel it will help.

In the meantime, we're sending you all our strength and support JenlouT, and wishing you all the best with your clinical trial if you go ahead with it.

    Kind regards,
