Becoming real

So the specialist has chatted to us about having a rest from treatment cos hubby not strong enough due to secondaries

Its all becoming more real that there is only one way for hubby.

He is less active and needs lots of rest and pain relief....I know the end is coming closer and hubby has now begun to accept it too ...was all for treatment been so brave as everyone is who goes through these gruelling treatments.

I know im grieving ....its just sad and hard ...

Cancer sucks

  • Hi Ed

Glad to hear you had a reasonable night but wonder is there any other help pain relief wise to make it even better for you?

I managed time out today ( relative visiting  keeping hubby company) doing something just for me. And not cancer related....I know its eadylier said than done and easier for me than your self or hubby who is facing this rotten disease head on.

But distraction can work wonders just to break the cycle of worry cant it?

Thanks again for being You. Your support is really appreciated.

Hope you have a good nights rest

    Kind wishes RB

  • HI RB

I'm glad that you managed to get some time out for yourself yesterday it is so important for your own wellbeing. The loved ones of those with cancer face this disease head on every bit as much as those who have it and it is no easier to escape to a happy place where cancer is put away briefly than it is for the ill person. Wishing that you are able, no matter how breifly, to find that happy place today.

  • Hi Rb

Yes you did reply its a case of overlapping posts. The pain relief is a challenge. The body quickly gets used to pain relief medicine and it becomes ineffective after a while so stronger medicine has to be prescribed and in ever increasing doses. I hate not having a clear head or being lethargic so Im happy to put up with a moderate amount of pain to achieve this. Also the opiod pain killers give me constipation and nausea which then means taking anti sickness pills and something for constipation. I already eat a high fibre diet and drink plenty. I try to get by with just Naproxen. I think nightime is the most important for pain relìef as a good nights rest helps getting through the next day. And today is a good day as I hope it is for you and Mr Rhubarbdragon.
