NO REPLY???????

Several days ago I asked the nurses how to get help with the pain I am experiencing.  I have had no reply, which disappoints me.  Perhaps some of the people on here could help me?  I am terminal and I am having bad pain with my right leg and the bottom of  my back, where the cancer is.  None of my pain relief is working very well, and my question is this:  Can anyone point me in the right direction?  Do you know of ANY pain medication for cancer that actually WORKS?  Thank you in advance for your reply.

  • Hi Violet

Try phoning the nurses 0808 800 4040 for a private chat. They can advise on pain relief and how to approach your health care team to review your medication. There does seem to be a reluctance by some healthcare professionals to prescribe enough medication to keep patients pain free. Probably with good reason. Addiction, inability to function properly, toxicity and overdose. Hopefully you will be able to access the pain relief you need to keep you comfortable.

  • Hi Violetgirl,

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling with the pain. We just wanted to let you know that unfortunately the nurses don't work over the weekends, but you should expect to receive a reply from them very soon, and hopefully today.

Do of course keep in touch with your doctor about this also.

    Best wishes,

I am sorry to hear you have experienced this neglect and hope by now you are receiving better care and proper pain relief

There is no excuse to leave a patient in pain

Shouldnt have to fight so hard

But no response ask again and again you deserve to be looked after and to be comfortable.

    Sending strength
