Hello Beefie10
I'm sorry to hear that you and your Mum are struggling at the moment. It sounds like it's been a difficult time for you both.
It's understandable that your Mum is worried that she's been told she has the late stages of bowel cancer. What support does she have from her GP or the specialists? Talk with them about your concerns regarding your mum and how worried she is. Hopefully, they will be able to give her some reassurance about her worries and talk with you both about the care options that are available as your Mum's health deteriorates.
I'd also suggest reaching out to your GP for some support. Caring for a loved one through the last weeks or months of their life can raise a lot of mixed thoughts and feelings. It's important that you look after yourself as well as looking after your Mum. You might find it helpful to look through this information on our website about taking care of a loved one and yourself.
If it would help to talk things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.
I hope that you and your Mum can access the support you need to navigate this difficult time. Don't forget that we're also here for you Beefie10 if it helps to have a safe space to put down in writing how you're feeling.
Sending you both my best wishes,
Jenn
