How to tell my children

My husband has terminal pancreatic cancer, he is very close to the end of his journey. we have 2 young children age 3 and 7. Both my children have communication difficulties due to deafness, we have tried to explain what is happening particularly to my 7 year old we have used books movies even our macmillan nurse has tried to explain he doesn't get it, how do I tell him where his daddy has gone when the time comes.

  • Hi, sorry to hear of your situation, I myself found it difficult and still do to tell my young children. I started by telling them I’m not well and that I will be going for medicine to help me. However, I still can’t find the courage to tell them I’m not gojng to be round much longer. Instead I started making short videos on my phone for them, something to let them know how much I love them and to be kind to each other. Some videos are of how I’m feeling, some are random things like stories about me and my childhood. Hope this helps a little. Take care.
